The Dems have learned from the Dumpster and GOP that Civility only goes so far when only one side practices it. When Biden was denied service years ago, they handled it with a lot more grace than the GOP is doing with what happened to Sanders.

At private situations, like restaurants eating etc, “celebrities” should be left alone. I’ve had movie and other celebrities as friends over the years, and being left in peace, is civility. However, at public events, go for it. But more importantly, I do NOT AGREE with Maxine Waters’ charge to harrass people, but if you’ve ever watched a Sanders presss conference, or ANY appearance or tweet from Trump, they’ve held civility down on the ground and beaten it to a pulp, they may represent egregious violations of civility that call , “tit for tat”, or “kitten grabbing”.

I’m so sick and tired of this crap. Republicans get to act like 4-year-olds for 20 years and that’s just Republicans being Republicans, but Democrats have to act perfectly 24/7/365. The laws don’t apply to Republicans, but every single minutia of the law has to hang over every single Democrat like the sword of Damacles. We’re talking about babies ripped from their parent’s arms and locked in cages or transported all over the country with ZERO way to reunite them. That’s what has led to this, and if everyone has to shut the hell up lest we hurt Republicans’ feelings, well too damn bad. They’re trying to take away our Medicare and Social Security, give the rich every single dime from every single American, and we’ve been civil. And now, we’re going to lose the ability to vote. Should we remain quiet then? Is that okay with you?

Just remember, they’re going to come for you too Nick. Should we be just hunky-dory with that before or after they lock you up?

umm, is ‘civility’ meant to represent Trump’s lying press secretary? really? an the supreme court ruled businesses can discriminate against their customers (not to mention the VP when he was Indiana Gov), so why not point the finger at them?while the restaurant telling Sanders to leave doesn’t feel right, i must admit, i also can’t find it myself to feel sorry for them considering their attacks and various exclusionary actions on different minority and vulnerable groups.

Civility has been gone since about 2007/2008. You can’t get rid of something that is no longer there.

As soon as then Senator Barack Obama announced his intention to run for President, conservatives, led by Mitch McConnell, kicked civility in the chestnuts, pursuing a now 10-year battle against the black man and his administration. So, no, we will not be civil to the architects of incivility in recent politics.

Trump tells his supporters to physically attack people and they have no problem with that. Sanders is peaceably asked to leave a restaurant and they lose their minds. The straw men are alive and well.

Although I could be wrong, I think I just might have figured this cartoon out. It doesn’t mean what you might think it means. It appears to say one thing on the surface but when you delve deeper the meaning is exactly opposite. My take: the woman wearing the shirt with the word civility is the Reich Wing who are now calling for civility. She is being asked to leave because of her behavior. And, because of her behavior, her request for civility is no longer accepted. The following article states this fairly well.

If that part of the civilisation represents civility, I’m happy NOT to be civilized.
