Melania goes to the border to show how much she cares, wearing a jacket ($39 dollars, cheapest thing she has ever worn since she came here to work illegally) that says, “I don’t care, do u?”
Yes. I care. We all should care. The fact that Melanie (I mean Melania) and her disgusting “husband” don’t care is a stain against humanity in general and the United States in particular.
I think it just shows the incompetence that reigns at the White House. I think Melaina probably didn’t think about it and just grabbed her jacket. The people around her should have pointed out the PR problem. Perhaps they didn’t because she disagreed with the Dumpster?
A lot of theories are flying around about the original intent of the message but I have to wonder if it actually was meant for the Big Orange Turd. Melania spoke out against his policy of separating children from their parents and now that he has caved on it she is going to visit the kids. I also wonder if the stormtroopers guarding them will try to refuse her entry like they did congressmen and others.
I agree with NRHAWK. It’s possible she was sending a message to Trumpee. With luck for the country – perhaps her next message could be from a divorce lawyer. I suspect the pre-nup would leave her close to penniless, most likely because Trumpee really has very little money not controlled by the Russian mob.
The President said the jacket’s message was intended for the “unfair” and “fake news” media. The President’s daughter said she hoped the media would focus on the visit and not make a big deal out of an unconscious “fashion choice.” If the First Lady didn’t think about it herself, well, I won’t go there. I simply find it hard to believe that any public figure that is shepherded by a staff who knows (or should know) that their charge is always under intense public scrutiny did not point out that perhaps, just perhaps, this sort of emblazoned apparel might be noticed? It just might be misunderstood? If nothing else, it might be construed (at the very least) in bad taste, if not patently offensive? If they didn’t, they should be fired.
Years ago, I had an in-service session on time management where we were advised to always have a background check running in our brains asking “What’s the best possible use I could be making of my time right now?”. I wonder how often that thot occurs to Melania Trump.
I’m not the first person to notice how odd it is to wear a jacket at all to go to the Rio Grande Valley in summer. I live in the RGV (quite near the site Ms. Trump visited), and we have three seasons here: hot, hotter, and OhMyGodTheSidewalkIsOnFire!
Remember the pussy bow she wore at one of the debates? She knows the impact of symbolism. She might very well be wearing a statement like, “help me, I’m being held captive.”
No one really knows what Melania was up to here; I certainly don’t but here’s my best guess. The entire message would read, “I’m playing the role of the dutiful First Lady as is required of me for both the country and my husband and putting on a show of compassion but I really don’t care.” As with everything else about Trump, it’s all about putting on a show for his audience.

Air Force One should be renamed the vomit comet, as the passengers make the whole civilized world want to puke.

It’s hard to imagine that this was a coincidence. The Trumps probably thought that this would resonate well with a segment of their base.

Well anyway we know that she didn’t copy that from Michelle Obama.

They do have handlers in the WH. It seems odd that no one noticed how inappropriate her jacket was and said something.

The jacket she wears when around the trumpster most likely says “FU”

Melania imitating Michelle Obama is as pathetic as the moon imitating the sun.

She didn’t wear it (much) at her destination, so it was likely a jab at Donnie, but he twisted it around to his own inane message.

If she was stupid enough to wear it, she deserves the backlash.
