We had a friend that was proverbially late for everything. We told him he would be late for his own funeral. When he died he was cremated and when we arrived at the cemetery for the memorial the funeral director had left the cremains at the funeral home. Oops!
I heard once (years ago) that the biggest problem in the funerary/mortuary industry was that industry’s employees trying to look sad at a $150,000 funeral.

One of my Dad’s many part time jobs, after he “retired”, was driving a hearse for a friend’s funeral home. He used to say the same thing.
When he died, the funeral procession was so long from the funeral home to the church, that he was truly, " late for his own funeral " !

I just hope that his driving doesn’t cause more customers for his service.

If there is ever a complaint, it would be time for an Exorcism.
