Now the days get shorter until December 21. But The days still get warmer until sometime in September. Did they both drink a bottle of wine? That seems like a lot since I quit drinking (except for an occasional beer). Oh well they did not have to drive.
I remember visiting friends in Edmonton and the sun didn’t set until almost 10:00pm. We were getting tired, but the sun was still up – and they were dragging. We finally realized what time it was and they explained that it’s only dark for a few hours in the summer, so they get used to it.
Which means the winter only has a few hours of light – wow!
I did a challenge in northern lower Michigan. I’m not sure who won but you do have to quite playing tennis there by 9:45. Of course, all those trees provide lots of shade on the courts.
We knocked out two bottles last night between after work (so actually 6ish) and sunset. Makes dinner really late. Pretty much was our exact conversation too!
I don’t understand this comic about half the time. What does the drinking have to do with a late sunset? They don’t have to drink until sunset, they could stop at any time. Or not drink at all some days.
Where I live only plastic and paper go in the recyling bins. We’re supposed to take all glass t the appropriate recycle depot our selves. Which makes no sense since plastic is ruining the environment as most of it ends up in the ocean.

Longest day of sunlight of the year, first day of summer, it’s all downhill to winter from here.

Actually, latest sunset is June 27 (which satisfies Arlo’s statement).

If they killed a whole bottle each I doubt if they could even see the sunset.

I don’t understand this at all. Its summer, they’re outside & they drank wine. Why the grumpy faces?

Sorry, due to what it appears she’s looking at in that last frame, my mind’s in the gutter…

I think that was part of the joke — the evenings are so much longer now that one bottle of wine before bedtime doesn’t suffice.

It takes a couple of weeks before it starts moving back…I love it being light until 9:30 at night.
