My mother was a waitress in a popular restaurant in our town (she worked there for about 30 years). Sometimes she would have a party overstay; they would have had their dessert and are just lingering on, well after closing. Finally, she would walk up to the table, smile sweetly, and say, “I don’t sing, I don’t dance, I don’t take off my clothes. This is it, folks.” People didn’t seem to get upset by being sent off this way.
