I have tossed out many things that I wished I had kept because now they are valuable. And, of course, the things I DID hold on to are only valued by me.

Liv, it’s time for an intervention. Send him to Hoarders Anonymous.

You know, it’s easy to criticize and make fun, but just because it looks like hoarding to you, doesn’t mean it isn’t a valuable collection to the owner. If there is no danger to safety or health, why does anyone have the right to judge? Tangible expressions of memories take many forms.

Try watching “Pawn Stars” instead — you couldn’t sell those guys the Hope Diamond for more than pocket change!

Husband does not like me to get rid of anything – even items that are just mine – I have to sneak them out of the house – not easy as we are almost always together.

He used to let me donate stuff. We donated his pants that no longer fit him – some years after this occurred. Well, he is back to the size he was and pants are no longer made in that size. He wore/should wear an odd (as opposed to even) size. He can either wear pants that start to fall off – even when belted – or one that are too tight. He tried suspenders (braces) but they hurt his shoulders. So nothing should be donated or otherwise gotten rid of in his mind now – as we will need it again.
