Oldcoal, they’ll say he didn’t really mean it. What a great defense! Let’s see them allow it tobe used for any other kind of crime committed by someone not white and rich.

OMG I can’t believe how tone deaf this is. It isn’t about anyone being offended by the anthem it’s about people being shot for being black. The fact that people including Trump are ignoring this and are trying to make it about patriotism is utterly offensive.

Mr. Lester, if one has the Anthem as their ring tone does that mean they should be taking off their hat, holding it over their heart, waiting for the whole thing to play, and standing….. every time someone calls? As the ‘toon is drawn I can’t determine the patriotism of the man buying the coffee.

When the symbol for a thing gets more reverence than the actual thing does, when you can’t even really describe what the symbol represents, your symbol no longer has any significance. To be a bit Biblical, it’s nothing more than a false idol, which folks like Lester have placed in front of the real thing. God Bless America. God save us from Americans.

The point of kneeling is to protest police violence against blacks, it isn’t about being “offended”. It is exceptionally rude to make a worker wait for the customer to get off of the phone, regardless of ringtone. If the customer was so patriotic, then he should remove his hat and let the entire anthem play out instead of answering the phone mid-anthem.

What’s particularly ridiculous are how many of the people that are appalled by the protests wear flag apparel, display the flag incorrectly (e.g. don’t take it down or light it after dark), or the ones that had flags flying on their cars until they were filthy and ragged.

Mikey is offended by anyone who thinks that he and his hero Trump are not geniuses who will save the United States from it’s enemies (democrats, independents, brown people, non-evangelicals, middle class, etc…)

Hey, if we really want to respect our National Anthem we’ll stop having these dreadful warblers executing it.

Waitaminute, it’s ok to talk on the phone while the National Anthem is playing? Talk about a lack of respect and patriotism! But I guess it’s OK if you’re a Republican.

Probably ok to yell out your orders for hotdogs and beer during its playing too, as long as you’re white.
