It should be a pie chart. I like pie. Do they make a cake chart with a girl that jumps out?

NRA comes up with all kinds of twists to show that other countries have more gun deaths than we do. The members believe it religiously. They also believe that NRA only donated 3 Million to last election when it was over 50 Million.

Switzerland and Germany have lots of guns without lots of mass shootings. Why is that? Instead of focusing on guns, why not focus on what has changed in our society? I know why.

… the way the NRA leads the argument away from anything gun leads me to believe that they know- legal or otherwise – that the problem is the guns…

… if the NRA truly believed the problem was anything but guns, they would be telling their gun owners to be responsible with their guns…

… they would be spending a fortune to be telling Americans that very thing…

… the troubling thing is that the last two major shooters were out and out Trump fans…

… one with his Facebook portrait of him with a terrorist like scarf wrapped around his face wearing a MAGA hat…

… the other one of the only two things he posted about were guns and Trump…

… the FAKE News, the lamestream media – even cartoonists- gleefully ignored these facts..

… umm, Mr. Trump what do you have to say about these killers being such big fans of yours that they proudly are wearing your hat?…

    … I guess it’s true…

… like car wrecks and people sticking forks in their eyes…

… school shootings are just a way of life in America…

Dumbass Americans will rather see their children shot than pass sensible gun laws. The world watches in wonder and disgust

Brass Orchid, like many espousing conservative beliefs, fears any government intervention or law that would ( sensibly or otherwise ) limit what he perceives as his God given individual right – which of course trumps ( pun intended ) the rights of the collective citizenry.

No matter how well ( or poorly reasoned ) the argument is spurious in the light of the NRA’s proclivity for supporting the greed and insensitivity of guns and munition manufacturers under the guise of protecting “freedom”.

Personally, I don’t give a damn how many of the Bubbas, Bangers, and MEGAs kill each other with their precious firearms. I do however care about the wanton destruction of innocent lives because people are too ignorant, self-serving, and egotistical to admit that this needs to stop !

The “well-regulated militia” was always intended to fight FOR the government against enemy governments. (You can look it up.) And what most people mean by sensible laws are things like the same kind of background checks at roving gun shows as we have at fixed-location gun shops. Possibly magazine limits. Possibly no more semi-automatics (since full automatics have theoretically been banned for a long time.) Things like that—you know, sensible!

There were studies on gun violence in the home published in 1993 that showed having a gun in the home increased the chances of homicide three fold and suicide by five.

The NRA did their part and immediately lobbied to stop all federal funding of gun violence.

    Problem solved…

Ruben, I’m a big fan of the comics — superheroes, comic strips and editorial cartoons, not to mention Mad magazine in its heyday and the classics from The New Yorker. Your blend of commentary and parody is among the best I’ve ever seen — funny, sharp and clever. This one is another winner.
