This reminds me of a cartoon I saw once called "If They Had Prozac in the 19th Century. In the first panel, a young Friedrich Nietzsche is walking home from church with his father and saying “I really liked what the minister had to say, especially that part about helping the little people.” In the second panel, Karl Marx is saying, “Of course capitalism has problems, but I’m sure they’ll work it all out eventually.” In the last panel, Edgar Allan Poe sees a raven sitting on the bust of Pallas and says, “Pretty bird.”

Never mind the fact the Lizzie Borden was acquitted. We in the later years are so much better than those people.
