Seriously, the object of an investigation gets to decide the terms and scope of the investigation?
There were already credible allegations of Russian collusion involving Carter Page going back several years, and George Papadopoulos had bragged to an Australian diplomat in a bar months earlier about his ties to Russia.
An “investigation” for serious crimes with probable cause based on credible information is not infiltration or political surveillance.
Trump was happy when James Comey (a life-long Republican) made public information about investigating Hillary (which would soon close with ZERO indictments or convictions) but now whines and cries like the big baby he is because there was also an investigation of Trump (which Republican Comey did NOT make public, probably to his present regret) which has already resulted in 23 indictments or guilty pleas and remains open.
If nothing else, The Great Pretender has made us see the wisdom of having more-or-less professional politicians. Enough people to elect him thought the government could be run as a business, but obviously not. You really do have to start with a seat on the county council, maybe run for state senate, etc. to be able to understand the checks and balances, and why certain laws, which might seem inane to an outsider, are in place. Rule by fiat went out of fashion a log, long time ago.
What we don’t need, what the Middle East doesn’t need what the world doesn’t need or want is a 3rd Gulf War. And the idiotic fool wants us to go to war again.
“Preserve and protect the Constitution of the United States…” “…faithfully execute the laws….” Yeahyeahyeah…Listen, if you want someone to do all that stuff yer gonna hafta make that oath shorter. A LOT shorter. And, oh yeah…make it indoors so I’m not distracted looking around to count the billions of people gathered ’round. Geez!
^Night-Gaunt, the list of requirements given to the Iranians reminds me of the list given by the Austro-Hungarian Empire to the Serbians in 1914 after the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. It was nearly impossible for the Serbian government to give in to all of them. The list of demands may have been merely a fig leaf to provide some ethical cover. “See, we tried to negotiate, but the Serbians forced our hand…”
I agree with many if not all of the ideas in the list, but the Iranians are a proud people with a long history. They can’t give up on all points without (in effect) declaring themselves villains and trashing their national pride.
Diplomacy, real diplomacy, would be much more likely to produce positive results for everyone.
Jason Allen said, “…I forgot the lousy campaign Hillary ran that allowed Trump to win in the election…” Y’know, I hear that a lot. Proves my point that Americans have no interest in the abilities of the candidates, only how good their advertising is.

I’LL EXECUTE THE LAWS LATER – {rhyme}
“Before I execute the laws of the land,
I’ve got to grab Mueller tight in my hand
and choke out the fires he has fanned.
He upsets so much that I’ve planned.
By squelching Mueller, I’m again in command, -
- and America soon will again be grand.”
{Not.}

Cynical Republicans are willing to destroy the FBI for doing its job correctly to defend traitor Trump, the head of the Republican Party.
