It’s the next step that’s the problem Ramirez. What would you like to see happen ? A) Sensible gun laws, regulating ownership and usage of guns or B) Arm everybody including teachers janitors and kids. Which of these options do you think will lead to less gun violence ?

Yes,it is video games and movies (1st amendment) to blame, not easy access to guns…oh, and too many doors, just have fewer doors. Next they will be blaming actual straws.

Shakeswilly: Here in Texas, we have a lt. gov. saying that the schools have too many entrances and exits. And that we need to retrofit existing schools and redesign future schools. Dan Patrick – proving that intelligence is not a requirement for our politicians. Hey ass (Patrick) we should not have to worry about something like that.

When I was a kid, we used to have those A-bomb drills where we crouched under our desks. Now the kids have lock-down drills for crazed shooters. How sad is it that we can’t protect our children?

What concerns me is that the Democrats are not listening to what their opponents are saying and are just decreasing their opportunity to change things in November with their attitude.

Gun violence studies have been “hampered” by the NRA. As long as the NRA can say there are no studies to support any regulations, this will continue. When a politician runs a commercial with him or her firing a gun or rifle, it’s a sure sign he is in lockstep with the NRA and against any attempt to understand the gun violence issue. You can’t fix what you don’t understand.

FeverJr is absolutely correct. You cannot effectively work on an issue if you don’t know the details. The NRA coerced Congress to take the money away from CDC that was used to track gun violence. The gun tracking process involves hand-written information and law enforcement is blocked from developing a database. NRA blocks effective background checks. Gun shops can only get one surprise inspection per year and there isn’t a way to look at their “frequent shoppers” aka straw purchasers.

Just does not make sense to blame a inanimate object on what is a systemic problem. Everyone wants to treat a symptom of the disease and not the disease itself. The mass killings are a relatively new issue in our society. Guns have always been available to students but its only relatively recent in our history that the shootings have started. What is the cause. Education to liberal, breakdown in the family, breakdown in religious beliefs. Anybody want to try that direction for answers or keep blaming the straw in pop and the fork on your plate for making you fat.

Ramirez, your hero Trump has promoted violence against protestors and constantly denigrates people who are different in some way. Parkland and Texas shooters are BIG Trump fans as is the lawyer berating WORKERS by telling them that he is paying their welfare.

Loco, the rise in mass shootings CAN be tied to weapons like the AR-15. Mass shootings went down when the assault weapons ban was in affect. When it was allowed to expire the NRA went on a massive promotional campaign to sell the AR-15 and similar weapons. The NRA blocked the CDC from tracking gun violence and law enforcement cannot build a database – they have to use an outdated, hand-written card system. The NRA’s solution is always “more guns” because they represent gun manufacturers and dealers. Trump getting elected caused gun sales to go DOWN because the NRA couldn’t lie about “Obama’s coming to take your guns” anymore.

Gun lobbies are responsible for the deaths of hundreds of school children.

All they care about is selling guns.

Said it before, but it bears saying again. School doors must be locked preventing entry, but allowing exit. The locked doors must be alarmed and under CCTV surveillance. All students must be informed that if they open said doors they will be suspended for a period of time. One entrance is open with armed guard and metal detectors. The press must NOT publicize school shooting, as nutcases love the attention and will copy others. Parents that do not lock up their weapons must be charged with accessory to murder if they kid gets ahold of their gun and kills. The above method of securing the school has been done for years in gang ridden areas, IT WORKS.

We all know that even collecting data on gun violence is exactly the same as total confiscation of all guns.

So send money to the NRA/Republican politician. Operators are standing by.

Guns do not kill people. NUTS with guns do. The laws need to be made and enforced to find and keep the NUTS from buying guns. Yeah, some NUTS are going to have ‘their rights violated’ and the NRA has to accept that as a necessary evil. Yeah, some honest citizens are going to have to have their backgrounds checked, and the NRA has to accept that as another necessary evil. The Second Amendment was to make sure there was a well-armed militia. If you are not a member of a credited militia then you should not have a gun. This would quickly eliminate the majority of loners that do the mass shootings from having guns.
