Too bad they don’t really warn you. Their kinda getting more into bait and switch, advertise some minor news story to get you interested and then give you stuff you really wish you didn’t have to hear about all the time. Sure that minor story they lured you in with is there, though not always quite as they advertised it to be, but it’s really short and easy to miss. It’s not that I don’t want to be informed, it’s just that I’m tired of the bait and switch news.

WARNING: The news is filled with ongoing corrupting stories of reality you would rather not know about. Viewer discretion is advised.

A several months ago, in one of his rants, Lewis Black told how, when he gets up in the morning, the first thing he does is turn on his smartphone and ask Siri for the news. Lately, she’s replied, “Are you sitting down?”

I’d rather watch Andy Griffith reruns and pretend I live in rural America in the 60’s. Just for an hour or so.

SM – All major media is owned by big corporations or private industries that limit the news to the latest natural disaster, celebrity rumor, Trump tweet, Russia investigation, or sports and the weather. Nothing referencing the policies that are killing us are allowed. Nothing examining the fact that the morbidly rich own our asses and those of our children is allowed to be discussed as anything other than business successes.

If I’ve tuned in, I guess I want to hear it, no matter how bad. To be sure, many are the days I do not tune in….
