We’re tampering with far more than we think. Although the sequence pictured may BE one of the mechanisms of natural selection.

I don’t see how. The cats who choose the best servants will prosper

Careful, Arlo. If humans didn’t tamper with natural selection, the world’s population would be considerably lower, and you might not be here, either.

I am certain my close friends A & J have had Ludwig “fixed.” So pamper away. I do think we’ve ended human natural selection though.

Interesting point of view, Meg. I do not agree but would honestly enjoy hearing how you came to that conclusion. Seriously; I’m always open to new ideas. Thanks. Terry

Natural selection has been tampered with ever since humans domesticated animals and cats domesticated humans.

Natural selection continues in the feral cat colonies and places where they let their cats run free and unneutered.

Unless Ludwig sired offspring, the only way Arlo and Janis tampered with the natural selection of house cats was by removing Ludwig from the gene pool.

Who says humans aren’t part of the “natural selection” process? We’re as much part of “nature” as anything else.

Why do we suppose humans are un-natural? What we are and what we do is part of our “nature.” So whatever processes are extant, we are part of it!

I suspect this is currently a mute point…. I seem to recall that Arlo stated that Luddie was neutered in some previous comic. Therefore, Luddie will not be involved in any copulation experiences that could foster the next generation.

Humans are part of nature…well, maybe not all of you, but mostly.
