You can’t fix stupid. It’s the modern form of natural selection. Except that you were too stupid and lacking in common sense to put your freaking phone away so you walked into the flow of traffic and got biffed. Then the scumbag ambulance chasers come out and sue the driver of the car and their insurance company to cover up for you own incredible amount of stupidity.
One of the lesser-known tales in Gulliver’s Travels was to the island of Laputa, where scientists and other such thinkers lived. They tended to wander around without looking where they were going, so every one of them was given an assistant to make sure that the thinker didn’t wander into a dangerous situation (off a cliff, etc). Sounds like a good idea now.
Remember the lady a few years ago that was walking while reading her cell phone and fell into the water fountain at the mall. She sued the mall for releasing the footage – even though no one knew it was her until she put her name on the lawsuit?
