Seems impossible to define really. Certainly there are some folks who fit Goat’s description who aren’t successful at all. And there are others who don’t work that hard and yet their quite successful.

Trying not to be political: It depends on how you define success. For some, success is surviving another day. For others, it is acquiring as much STUFF as humanly possible and all’s fair. And everything in between.

I would say that success on a world-class scale, like a virtuoso or a brilliant scientist, is more often sparked by not only great natural gifts but exceptional drive and a sense of purpose. Single-minded, disciplined people can accomplish great things. They can also become unhinged. High-strung means high anxiety.

I knew it! Business tycoons were all brain damaged as kids!

Success is the hard way in and failure is the easy way out. Choose your path!

I don’t necessarily think you have to get up earlier. Some people are more productive later in the day. I’ve never really been a morning person, and have done some of my best work in the evening and late night hours.
