I sense that whoever drew this hasn’t seen a classroom in a very long time. A plywood box with no piles of stuff everywhere? Nope…..

Nancy sits on a platform, while the class slopes down into the pit of academic despair.

Nancy has one right idea of the concept of group work. There are moochers.

The teacher in red must be related to Dilbert’s boss, the pointy hair guy.

The 4Cs of education, not to be confused with the 4Cs of the diamond variety, are collaboration, critical thinking, communication and creativity. Is there anyone out there in school or at a job who has not experienced “team” assignments with the opposite results?

Very strong insight today… both from Nancy and her teacher. Group work is almost inevitable as a facet of modern work. But, as Nancy suggests, it is so often inequitable work. Having the red-shirted teacher use Group work when under prepared is also common, but it does not negate the value for the student. I really like more and more, Nancy’s teacher! She has been a great addition!!!

I think we all need to do some group work to try to find a funny comment for this comic. As individuals, we’re failing.

The 11th appearance of “3” and “16 – 4” as well as the return of “x-squared” (the x followed by the raised 2), a term from algebra – a class that is taught several grades after Nancy’s current one.
