This has actually happened in another context. I seem to remember Carl Sagan’s ‘COSMOS’ series where there was a species of crabs in Japan that now have a pronounced human face shell because the fishermen would return all of the ones that had even a vague resemblance and over the centuries it has become a case of selective breeding.
