I feel sorry for the NRA; the price of buying politicians is going to go up. They even had to spend more money on advertising. It would be too bad if they were put out of business./s

With the old guard leaving the Republican Party to make way for more of the extremists masquerading as Conservatives to come in. Hard line Libertarians who will not bargain.

If Repug politicians again show no intestinal fortitude on an obviously necessary legislative response, the entire situation will not improve for them one iota. They will only be putting off their own demise to a later time, when it will be even harder to swallow. GOP: Take your medicine now, for the good of the nation. FACING DOWN THE NRA HAS TO HAPPEN. It could not be more obvious that the vast majority of the people want Congress to restrict all sorts of things having to do with these weapons. If that means the NRA will fund even more extreme zealots to run against you in a primary, take them on. If they beat you, you know they’ll lose in the general election so sanity will prevail. Even better, if you beat them, YOU bury the insanity.

Well! Exactly WHO do those kids think they are anyway?? Wanting to be able to get a good education WITHOUT having to worry about some random nutcase massacring them with Military-Grade firepower! Where do they think they are, anyway? A CIVILIZED county, like Switzerland, or Iceland?? Humpf! I never…

    Sarc/off now.

Things are definitely about to get interesting what with thousands of young adults registering to vote this weekend and thousands more in the very near future coming of age. The Domestic Terrorists at the NRA and the GOP should be scared.

Why is everyone getting emotional about kids being massacred, what the heck is wrong with you? They are statistically minor in the number of total deaths in America. So what is all the fuss about!? My impersonation of a typical Christian Family Values Good Guy NRA member.

Gun makers make money and they bribe politicians so they can keep making money. They don’t care about people’s lives, its all about money.

Hummm… Interesting; "From 1987 until 1994, some 42 percent of all rifles imported into the United States had come from China. The representatives noted that an embargo had been imposed in 1994 because, in just a few years, China “had exported almost one million Chinese rifles to the United States—more than made by all U.S. manufacturers combined in 1992.” Conferring this new trade designation, they argued, would effectively unravel the embargo and allow assault rifles like the SKS semi-automatic to become cheaply available again. “What made them attractive was their power and inexpensive price, only $55.95,” they wrote of the SKS, noting its popularity among neo-Nazis, gangs, and white supremacists. The letter concluded, “Don’t give China the power to decide gun policy in the United States.”

Today I have heard shameless attempts by NRA spokesmen to taunt the student anti-gun protesters. NRA said the kids were involved only for fame and they were hypocritical because they wanted to use cars, which are also dangerous. We have heard these arguments before. It is time to stand up to the gun nuts. On the other hand, it has been amusing to see the older conservative folks try to compete with the kids on social media. LOL.

Here’s an idea: everybody join the NRA, become voting members, vote out the scum currently running the show, and put in some decent human beings who will get out of politics and back to firearm safety.

The student protest marches yesterday is only the beginning. Time for sit ins ! Sit-ins will target the NRA and all those in congress and the White House who favor guns over human lives. Time for big get out the vote efforts to target all those who want to promote guns over people. This is happening!

Hopefully, these ardent youngsters can mobilize the entire population to demand sensible gun control….i.e. ban military style assault weapons with large magazines, ban high-powered velocity bullets designed to do as much damage in the human body as possible, ban bumper stock implement that turns assault weapons into machine guns, initiate better background check procedures nation wide and coordination of information between state military and legal departments, make mental health care possible for those who need it, raise the age for gun purchases, increase the wait time in order to get those comprehensive background checks .. Are they felons? Do they have a history of violence against others? Do they have a history of mental illness? This younger generation with its determination and passion for justice could be the motivating factor for such gun control laws. They could also be the generation that galvanizes everyone to #VOTE THEM OUT!! #ENOUGH IS ENOUGH #NOT ONE MORE MASSACRE!!!!!! Wow! do these people, these young people make me so proud!!!!

I had planned to march but last weekend I sprained my right knee almost as bad as Stephen Curry sprained his left. So, in a brace, and on crutches I still went but manned a table registering and preregistering voters for the primary in June and general in November. My twin 18 year old (Feb 29, 2000) daughters decided to come along. They are already registered, and so they marched. The table was very busy. We ran out of forms and had to call the Registrar of Voters office and pick up more. My knee does not hurt so much this morning. And thanks to DVR, we did not miss anything on TV. Emma/Cam 2036

Noticed that the posters held by local students at the Norfolk VA rally were pre printed and all IN THE SAME font. Who paid for the printing? And can someone tell me the name of the NRA member who last participated in a mass shooting ?

I noticed that Rick Santorum suggested that the students drop anti-gun activism and learn CPR instead. Doctors have skewered him for this, saying they can confirm that learning CPR will not remove a bullet. Get a clue.

Since the NRA is standing in the way of meaningful gun reform laws, I think we can say that the NRA organization does indeed have blood on its hands.

The right wing is afraid of the NRA – when they should be afraid that they are about to be voted out of office for allowing our children to die.
