A lot of Democrats think tax cuts for the rich are a great idea. It’s long past time to start thinking and voting third party.

You can not have it both ways, America. Deficit reduction AND tax cuts. Get real, for once.

Remember - $800 billion annually is spent on the Pentagon. And 24% of the income in this country goes to the top 1%. Two places to start with reducing the deficit.

The fact that so much wealth is hoarded by the few is only partly the result of tax policy. Workers have been sold on “supply side” policies for 30 years, until demand has dried up - and the economy can’t recover until somehow most people have money to spend.

^^Our economy was based on wealth since FDR took over and when Reagan came in we started a massive shift towards a debt based economy. Think credit.
And now that credit has gone dry we get into further debt by using our houses as ATMs. And now that jobs have gone to India and China what do we have left except a service economy that moves money around instead of creating wealth?
Adam Smith wrote on this: when a stick is on the ground it has no value. Now if you take that stick and turn it into an axe handle (labor) it becomes something valuable. Bring back our jobs!!!

Don’t worry, be generous to the rich.
If you’re lucky, they might trickle down upon you.

The current tax rate was supposed to be a TEMPORARY CUT designed to create job growth. It was passed way back in 2003.
How’s that been working for the middle class?

“they are not tax cuts they are nothing but the continuation of the current tax rate.If this administration didn’t spend like a drunken sailor (having been one I know) the deficit would be smaller”
They are indeed tax cuts. The cuts written by the previous administration and “shoved down our throats” (to use current Republican terminology for Reconciliation) were written to expire December 31, 2010 because they were shown to be otherwise detrimental to the deficit. Any tax cut now would be a NEW tax cut. If the PREVIOUS administration hadn’t spent like a drunken sailor as well, we would have a smaller deficit. – And they came into their term with a surplus to work with.syke34 over 13 years ago
Might as well tax the rich because they’re not investing the money to help the economy. Also, stop supporting third world countries who also are not helping our economy, and research programs that have nothing to do with anything.
