For someone that before the election could not wait for this comedy act to get started and over, now he doing every thing he can to stall the proceedings. And since when is a NY politician ever been broke? Especially one that has been in Congress as long as he has!

That’s okay. All my protestations of innocence have tired me out. I need a rest!

It seems to me Rangle hasn’t kept up with the times. His actions used to be considered SOP. These days you have to keep good records of money for the watchdogs, and lie about your intentions to your constituents. At least thats what the new GOP members are doing.

It appears he took advantage of Republican passed “tax breaks” and those are “unethical”. He got 84% support in his reelection, so maybe like all things blown out of proportion, his district might see that he’s done them more good? Hmm, wonder if he rented that Caribbean condo to Cheney, so Dick could go visit his money from Halliburton??

it takes hard work to get so far away from the facts….as most of the posters here…..

1.Rangel, for years on the tax-writing committee…failed to report large amounts of income, domestic and foreign, and to pay taxes on that income.

2.Rangel was found guilty on 11 of 13 charges which were drawn up by the House committee with members 50/50 D & R.

3.the committee had nothing whatsoever to do with any Tea Party movement which officially began in 2009 in the private sector, and the charges began coming to the committee long before 2009.

4.any House member who was a Republican who had done the same things as Rangel, would not only have been up before the ethics committee, but would have been leaked on continuously to the pro-democratic MSM and been held up to allegations of criminal behaviour, on worldwide media every day! calls for the Republican to resign would have been loud and long!

5,the ethics committee allowed him to mock and ridicule the process, to refuse to present any defense, and refuse to even attend and hear the charges! And then they merely slap his wrist and he goes back to business as usual?
