Shorthand: one of those secretarial skills we worked so hard to learn, just as Word Star was being introduced. I can still hand-centre a document on a manual typewriter. There’s no longer any need to do it, but I know how.
I graduated in ’85 and there was one computer in the whole building of over 4000 people. It was in the physics lab, in the storage room, because no one was allowed to teach it. One of my teachers just upgraded his home computer to use 5.25" floppy disks from cassette tapes. You folks that had computers back in the 70s must have lived in rich areas.
It looks like: “Your recent reference to the roof of my doghouse was quite inadequate” I took Diamond Jubilee Series shorthand, so this is a little different.

I wonder… if Spike were Snoopy’s secretary, would he have difficulty reading let alone writing?

Is the shorthand in the comic actually what Snoop said?

Man! It’s been so long. Since, I’ve taken shorthand in High School. That I can’t even read it.

I never learned shorthand, but you wouldn’t know that by reading my writing.

Grytpype:Moriarty?
Moriarty:Yes, what, what is it, Grytpype, what is it?
Grytpype:Take a letter in gargling fluid.
Moriarty:Ahya. [Slurp]
Grytpype:To the Postmaster General. Dear General…
Moriarty:[Gargling noises]
Grytpype:According to the shape of my knees…
Moriarty:[Gargling noises]
Grytpype:I believe that an illegal raffle…

Grytpype:For the equator is being held…
Moriarty:[Gargling noises, higher pitch]
Grytpype:And for certain monies I will reveal the organiser.
Moriarty:[Gargling noises]
Grytpype:Let’s have that back, please.
Moriarty:[Extensive spit]
Grytpype:You filthy swine! You’ve watered my peony.

I understand that Schulz knew shorthand. I am not sure what that says though.

Woodstock can’t write anything in longhand because his writing looks like chicken scratch.
