My wife surprized yesterday with pasteles. The Puerto Rican seasonal dish. Seasonal because of all the work that goes into making it.

Yumm, flan. I make a flambed version. Cooked thick enough to slice. I want to use fake sugar this year, except for the caramel top. Well, tonight I’m going to bake a Pumpkin-cheesecake though, it’s much easier.
