The employment rate was even higher when blacks were slaves. The statistic Trump cites lacks context when you consider Black Americans are still on the bottom rung of our economic ladder.

As we all know, Obama inherited a thriving economy with smooth sailing as far as the eye could see & gave Trump an economy teetering on the precipice of depression.

BTW, black unemployment went up almost a full percent since Trump’s claim. I recall quite a few Republicans accusing Obama of ‘fixing’ the numbers before important speeches & elections.

It dropped 1% under Trump and 10% under Obama so of course the racist Republicans try to claim it as their success.

No outbursts of “liar”, or a disgusting display from a SCOTUS member, as during Obama’s time. “Unity” is difficult when listening to a menace and child who’s out to DESTROY AMERICA, in no way making it “great”.

Ramirez conveniently ignores that “black unemployment” is still significantly higher than “white unemployment.” He also ignores that it had been declining steadily during Obama’s 8-yr term. Plus, the fact of ‘income inequality’ would not enter his ( or RWNJs ) consciousness!

Republicans taking credit where credit isn’t due. Unemployment in general, as well as for Blacks and Hispanics, had been going down for the last 6 years under Obama. Last year was just a continuation of that trend – actually a slight slowing of that trend, so Trump actually has done worse than Obama in that regard.

But republicans don’t care about the truth.

Unemployment for all under our Great Leader can sink to the lowest levels in the world’s recorded history.

It has been attempted only once before — in Germany, 1939-1945.

@chev.james, I find it “interesting” that “patriotic” republicans ignore how Trump ranted against a former POW (“I like people who don’t get caught”), insulted a Gold Star father for carrying a copy of the Constitution with him and told a group of veterans that “People with PTSD are weak.”

Did you check the records for this quarter there was an uptick in African American unemployment. Obviously, a Democratic Conspiracy.

Why do republicans complain when democrats do not want to go along with their bad ideas.

They complained that democrats did not help them with the tax reduction. Democrats know, as do most educated people, that tax reductions, by themselves, never increases tax revenue.

Blacks had 100% employment until 1863. Trump fails to notice that.
