What a dummass you are, MIke. Reagan vetoed spending bills causing shutdowns. Old Newtie Gingrich shutdown the government not only to try to stick it to Clinton but under Poppy Bush as well. That was our first warning that the GOP had no plans to govern, just to say no and cause havoc.

All the RIFs and shutdowns I went through, and those after I retired, were brought by Republican “cost savers”, at an average added cost to taxpayers of $5 billion, each time. If Republicans had some Mark Hatfields, and we had some Tip O’Neils back, government might work, but they’d have to impeach and remove Trump and Pence first.

Isn’t this last week’s news? Has nothing notable happened since, Mike? Didn’t I hear something about how Drumpf is going to have to have a chat with my personal hero, Robert Mueller? And yes, DrDon1, CHIP has been rescued, so I wouldn’t call it a failure on Mr. Schumer’s part.

The Republicans can’t keep the government open, and somehow Chuck and the Democrats are in a cave in? I guess you really don’t care about the poor children whose promise of the American dream has been broken by the heartless Republicans.
