No doubt the cartoon is accurate; trade wars ultimately hurt all sides. However, it is not just a Trump issue. Trade wars were initiated by Clinton, Bush and Obama, all with the same horrible results. It seems partisan in nature. I wondered why the same people who advocated lifting the US embargo of Cuba were the same ones who fervently demanded a US embargo of South Africa in the 1980s? Geography is irrelevant, embargoes end up hurting the natives of those countries.
