interesting toon … subject to interpretation I would guess … does the USA in the body cast represent the partisan gridlock we’ve been experiencing and will now experience even more based upon recent comments by McConnell, and now Eric Cantor who said GOP was willing to meet with Obama and compromise as long as he went along with the GOP 100 percent.

Hmmm. Haven’t seen any spammers for a few days. Could it be that GoComics has finally listened to our griping and done something about them?

BCS is correct. I read on AP mobile they want things their way or the highway and want to bring back the death panels (repeal health care law).

I know its not the AP but its the AP article.

It may also be in reference to the fact that we’re falling behind in support for research science and technology – we’re not investing in it through our government as, say, China and Europe are. Not surprising, since the Republicans are unwilling to accept biology (e.g., evolution, stem cells) or physics (e.g., global warming), which does rather put a crimp in your ability to develop 21st century science…

So, is the full body cast some sort of handicap? Are we handicapping ourselves because we’re so far ahead in the race (don’t see any other contenders catching up) that we need to hold back? NOT!

“Not surprising, since the Republicans are unwilling to accept biology (e.g., evolution, stem cells)”

    & gays.

“This is the most open society ever so all this talk to show some foolish moral superiority is silly.”

“Moral superiority” is the political platform of the Right. I put it in quotes since it’s often adulterers and greedy conniving individuals who run it which is in direct contradiction to Scripture.

Want some fun? Try comparing the number of marriages and affairs from “Family Values” Republicans versus Democrats, especially those who went after Clinton. Newt Gingrich: On third wife, deadbeat dad, abandoned his family to his church Henry Hyde: admitted affair with a married woman Rush Limbaugh: Four wives and counting… Clintons: still married and working together closely.

    ^ It’s pretty impressive, really.

And let’s not forget how when Governor Mark Sanford was found to be in an affair his supporters invoked a story of King David. This is why legislating morality is stupid.

How many politicians against the legalization of marijuana have smoked something similar?

“Some headway out of this mess”.. Exactly what do you have in mind, Tigger?

I have heard not a single proposal from any Republican candidate for putting Americans back to work. They have been quick to attack and slow to offer alternatives.

With the Republicans in the majority in the House will the Democrats become the party of “no”?

    House: Repeal ObamaCare Democrats NO

    House: Cut taxes Democrats NO

House: cut spending on social programs Democrats NO

But I predict all of you who mindlessly recited the chant Republicans are the party of No will suddenly grow silent.

^ When Republicans were the party of “No!” That was seen as patriotic and acceptable — “Real Americans.” So does becoming the party of “No!” now make one “real American” and patriotic?

To be honest, on the Tax cuts, it’s really the Republicans saying no. They banter about how important the deficit is, and Democrats’ plan is $700 BILLION dollars CHEAPER than the Republican plan. So … “No?”

“Sorry if we have better sex lives.”

Some of us would just like to enjoy ours without having a bunch of adulterers telling us we can’t.

All right Tigger, but then we each have to let our own sides know that we exapect them to work together.

It does no good for the Republicans to complain that the Dems don’t want to work with them, and vice versa. We each have to lean on the people WE voted for. Are you willing to do that?

More importantly are you willing to make the pitch that the Dems and the Repubs must work together to your fellow conservatives?

I have heard several declarations by Republicans, on this forum that there should be NO compromise with the Democrats, whatsoever….period, forget it, ain’t happenin.’

Will you take that argument you just made to those folks?

Josefw….do you REALLY want to go there?

Wayne Hays Bob Packwood Mark Sandford

    and

    John Ensign Bob Vitter

The latter two got standing ovations from their peers when they got caught….which just goes to show how much the R’s really care about family values:

If a Dem gets caught playing around, it means he’s a durty, immoral, godless, piece o; scum, whut should be run out of office yesterday.

If a Repub gets caught playing around, it means, “Whooo-HAW, ain’t he a stud?

BTW, when did John Kerry have an extramarital affair?

He didn’t, I just think he is a whore.

There are plenty of stones to throw on both sides, Motive just listed 3 R’s and 1 D. Thought I would balance the books a little.
