    I dream about my parents and pets who have been gone for years and it is like they are still alive. Dreams are there for us to keep those we care about with us and still part of our lives.

    When I dream, it comes out with stuff too strange to be considered for the Twilight Zone. Gotta stay off the late evening pepperoni.

    I never dream about people I know or have known. I guess that’s why my dreams are always so weird!

    Sometimes when I’m dreaming I realize I’m dreaming because things are happening that are impossible in real life, so I take charge of the dream and do things I wouldn’t normally do…..like flapping my arms, take off and fly around town. I never jump off tall buildings and start flying because I think what if it’s not a dream? What gets me is my conscious mind must be in the action because logic enters the picture. If only I could make a VCR tape of my dreams!

    Sprite was the model for Hobbes, both in looks and her tendency to sneak up and pounce, according to the 10th Anniversary book. When she died, Watterson wrote this strip. We can always meet again in dreams.

    Quanticobaby: Sometimes it will make you go through it again if you havent logged on for awhile. This is such a wonderful explanation. I myself have had the chance to visit with people who are no longer here and that I havent seen for years and their faces and voices are as strong and real as if it were live. The brain IS truly a marvelous device. Have a great Sunday everybody.

    It has been interesting hearing you all talk about your dreams. Since my post last night I had a dream where my wife and I hosted an all night party in a beautiful old house with hardwood floors. People, food and music filled every room. I so often have dreams where people are around me in large numbers, yet in reality I am more often than not quite solitary. I suppose dreams might help to satisfy needs we don’t reach in our day to day lives when awake.

    We dream when we’re asleep because it’s too distracting if we do it when we’re awake.

    If I could only retain enough memory of the details of my dreams and get them on paper, I would be a world renowned author of adventure novels. I believe it is from the ability that some writers have to do this that enables some to write complex and convoluted novels, TV shows, and movie scripts.

    The cat we have now often sleeps like Hobbes in this strip chin up,on his back on my pillow and snores. We love that huge cat his name is Tigger,and he tries to live up to his name.

    @poindexter, very well said..

    I have for years dreamed and of course still do every nite, some crazy some from the past, mostly people I have met in the past. Those that have passed away, if their face is in the dream, I can’t see their eyes, I was told ,that’s because those are the windows to their soul………………

    If you haven’t read it, try to find a copy of Jody Lynn Nye’s Waking in Dreamland. It’s an excellent tale of what’s going on in dreams.

    Most of the time I don’t remember my dreams but every now and then, I dream about my dad, who passed away almost 9 years ago. He may not be close to me in the here and now but he’s always close to me in mind, heart, and spirit.

    I dream like cleo, my parents, past beloved pets, a couple of friends I have lost over the years, dreamt about carmy just the other night as a matter of fact. When I awake I feel very peaceful because they are always good dreams. And sometimes I dream of places I have been, but haven’t been to in years, mostly towns I’ve passed through on a trip or something when I was a kid. Funny how the mind works.

    Good evening all I don’t know if anyone will read this. Here it goes. bmonk you did okay on what I wrote yesterday about all that snow. I had read other comments based on yesterday’s strip and commentor’s comments were more funny at times then the strip itself. Also I am surprise there is snow left after Calvin made all those snowpeople.

    I tried writing my dreams down a couple times in the middle of the night so I’d remember them. When I read it the next day it was total nonesence! I know I work out alot of my problems from the day in my dreams because I’ll wake in the morning with the answer to something that was making me nuts all day.
