Barack Obama: Well, perhaps I could have been more involved - you know, reminded everyone of my positive achievements... Punk: He doesn't read signs so well.
I think it will interesting to see how Obama governs without the Democratic majority in the House. Personally, I think the House Dems did a number on the stimulus package, and, unfortunately, Obama allowed it. Someone in his administration needed to be the designated bad buy and say no, this project doesn’t cut it. I think the idea of the stimulus was correct, but it didn’t produce all those green jobs as was claimed.
“Obama has only himself to blame. He cannot even fill his own cabinet. ”
Because the nominations were blocked?
He does have himself to blame in that he should have tried to do more to counter the Right wing noise machine, but I’m sure that lesson has been learned now, and maybe Democrats will show some spine and stand up for what good they’ve done.
“maybe Democrats will show some spine and stand up for what good they’ve done.”
is too optimistic. We’ve been asking them to grow a backbone for election after election, after election. I’m having a hard time even mustering up hope that the Dems will be able to hold back the damage the newly elected Republicans would like to inflict on us all.
“Also other presidents have had a large number of candidates blocked so that is nothing new.”
Republicans have set new records on filibuster use since 2008.
@thirdrailmiche - We can hope for some change! I think Democrats have learned that the Right Wing Noise Machine drowned out their deeds. I mean heck, the MAJORITY of voters think TARP was passed under Obama’s administration! If they want to survive and those of us who are at the mercy of the Right wing big government theocratic agenda, they need to speak up. And I think they will. I hope they will.
No, we must not compromise. We already have given too much to the wingnuts. Now is the time we let them obstruct and make sure everyone and their dog knows it so we will be in position to take 100 seats in 2012 and get our Obama reelected. Eyes on the prize. Once this is done, we can move forward with immigration reform and cap and trade.
Yeah, I’ve been saying that every election year since Clinton. The voters aren’t the only one’s too stupid to remember the past. The Dems run the same loosing campaign every year.

That’s hardly fair. The sign is turned around…can be seen only when you are in the water.

@jach75287: I know of only one person who’s ready for the Presidency,
but he’s got a nice pile of automatic weapons ready for anybody who wants to try to force him to do it.
