There’s nothing so humiliating as a perfectly good dramatic exit that gets ruined by little things like that!

In 1971, 6-year-olds generally didn’t have lockers at all, much less tall ones like these.

Today, not counting immigration, most of the industrialized countries are at or below replacement level population growth.

So, by 2050 the population will be about 15 billion? Looks like ocean going cities will have to be built just to house them all.

!971 to 1973 were years of great realization- we realized we were killing the planet, DDT, Pollution, burning rivers in Ohio, dying Great Lakes, Bays, such as the Chesapeake, Narraganset, etc. and then Watergate happened. After that the passion to save the environment was overshadowed and cynicism and distrust and ultra conservatives such as Phyllis Schlafly rose in power. The forward momentum of the positive enlightenment from those early 70’s died a painful death, and cynics rose from the ashes.

Population control…..? No problem. They are not telling us about the cancer cure they found decades ago. It’s good for employment too. Not only that, it brings in $18 BILLION to big pharma every year. No problem. It’s under control.

What is it with “GO COMICS”. They don’t understand that I am not going to become a member and they just have to keep hounding me? I guess they think if they use enough ‘pop-ups’ that I’ll give in……WRONG. I’ll just go somewhere else. Must have voted for Clinton.

Try and leave school in the middle of the day, these days! Like many schools around the country, all doors are LOCKED from the inside and the outside. There is a full time police officer in my sister’s town’s middle school and high school. It must be a looooong , boring day for them.

From western New York, by the ‘teaming shores’ of Lake Erie and I remember the first Earth Day; a big change from the days of ‘Peace, Love and dope’ to when people started dialing up heavier on Women’s rights, pollution and Vietnam. You could see a lot of chemical foam in Niagara gorge shortly after the Falls, and even now I see some foam that suggests to me that more needs to be done as I do not believe the foam is entirely from the agitation of the water coming over the drop.

    Are we Quivering yet ?!

I’m not laughing at you, Sally. I agree with you. People really need to stop having more children than they can afford.
