    By Matthew Cole, Jeremy Scahill

THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION is considering a set of proposals developed by Blackwater founder Erik Prince and a retired CIA officer — with assistance from Oliver North, a key figure in the Iran-Contra scandal — to provide CIA Director Mike Pompeo and the White House with a global, private spy network that would circumvent official U.S. intelligence agencies, according to several current and former U.S. intelligence officials and others familiar with the proposals. The sources say the plans have been pitched to the White House as a means of countering “deep state” enemies in the intelligence community seeking to undermine Donald Trump’s presidency.

The creation of such a program raises the possibility that the effort would be used to create an intelligence apparatus to justify the Trump administration’s political agenda.

Trump promised his tax plan would rewrite the tax code to allow working parents to deduct from their income taxes child care expenses for up to four children and elderly dependents. The GOP plan will drive up child care costs while the deduction will stay where it is, and the flex spending accounts for child care are going to be taken out.

Trump promised a tax cut for everyone, especially the middle class, but instead there are tax increases for the middle class and tax cuts for the wealthy.

Trump promised to lower the business tax rate from 35% to 15% and eliminate the corporate alternative minimum tax. they will only go down to 20% but business owners will be able to deduct 23% of their income, which will help them save, this will apply to pass-through entities as well.

Trump promised to collapse the current seven tax brackets to three brackets – looks like we’ll keep the seven brackets, but change the rates and income ranges associated with each, this will help the rich and hurt the middle class, especially the upper middle class.

Trump promised to do away with the marriage penalty – in it’s place, the GOP has given us the divorce penalty.

Trump said he was going to do away with the Alternative Minimum tax, Republicans decided to keep them.

Trump wanted to eliminate the carried interest deduction and other special interest loopholes that have been so good for Wall Street investors, and people like him, but have been so unfair to the American workers. the carried interest deduction is a tax break for the rich, so the republicans have preserved this unfair tax loop hole.

@Radish, this isn’t new. Ollie North was doing shadow government work for Reagan — funny how this admitted traitor still has his life, let alone a career — Cheney had his own intelligence unit feeding false information, hence the Iraq debacle — but it does seem to be mostly driven by Republicans who are resistant to fact-based action.

What is frightening and sad is the FACT that the Republican Party USED to be FOR the Workingman, as evidenced by a speech Senator Daniel J.Morrell of Pennsylvania made to Congress in 1866. In his first speech in Congress Mr. Morrell uttered the following plea for labor: “The American workingman must live in a house, not a hut; he must wear decent clothes and eat wholesome and nourishing food. He is an integral part of the municipality, the State, and the Nation; subject to no fetters of class or caste; neither pauper, nor peasant, nor serf, but a free American citizen. He has the ballot, and if it were possible it would be dangerous to degrade him. The country stands pledged to give him education, political power, and a higher form of life than foreign nations accord their laborers, and he must be sustained by higher rates of wages than those of Europe. Our industries operated by American citizens must be freed from foreign interference and organized into a distinct American system, which will exact some temporary sacrifices but result in general prosperity and true national independence. In maintaining diversified industries we utilize every talent, provide a field for every capacity, and bind together the whole people in mutual dependence and support, assuring the strength and security of our Republic.”

If you read Abraham Lincoln’s views on labor versus capital, it sounds strikingly parallel to Marxism:

“Labor is prior to and independent of capital. Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if labor had not first existed. Labor is the superior of capital, and deserves much the higher consideration. Capital has its rights, which are as worthy of protection as any other rights. Nor is it denied that there is, and probably always will be, a relation between labor and capital producing mutual benefits. The error is in assuming that the whole labor of community exists within that relation. A few men own capital, and that few avoid labor themselves, and with their capital hire or buy another few to labor for them.”

    — Lincoln’s first State of the Union Address (“First Annual Message”), December 3, 1961
