That’s not just Trump’s America. The Democratic leadership are just barely to the left of Ronald Reagan. Presidents Clinton and Obama passed tax cuts on the wealthy, welfare cuts for the poor, made it easier to outsource jobs, et cetera. Hillary supported the TPP and TransCanada pipeline while the running mate she chose was anti-union. But never mind any of that. The real reason the Dems had been loosing elections is a complete mystery.

Jason Allen, your whining about the democrats doesn’t solve anything. Winning elections matters more than ideological purity, in my view. Take the TPP, for example. Walking away handed China leadership around the Pacific rim. US influence on labor, environmental, trade, and human trafficking evaporated. So stupid. So misguided. So ignorant of the global facts.

The hard, cold reality is that, in 2018, we’d better see the democrats win the house to permit removal of trump from office. Then in 2020, the democrats better unite to take the White House. That is, unless you WANT the regressives to win. The country is split. We need to have the census done honestly and the Gerrymandering fixed, but until then, if you don’t vote democratic, you are inviting more madness. Do not let “better” be the enemy. You can only do so much and with the current regressive insanity in the CONgress and administration, cooler heads will tell you not to split your votes right now. Our two party system is suboptimal, but it is what we have to deal with.

Reality. Facts. Vote democratic. Work within the system to change it.

    http://www.businessinsider.com/carter-page-congressional-testimony-transcript-steele-dossier-2017-11

The House Intelligence Committee released a transcript of the former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page’s testimony before the panel last week.

Some of the testimony supports details contained in what has become known as the Steele dossier.

Page disclosed that he had met with Russian government officials and a top official at a state-owned oil giant during a 2016 trip to Moscow.

The dossier, compiled by the former British spy Christopher Steele, said an “official close to Presidential Administration Head, S. Ivanov, confided in a compatriot that a senior colleague in the Internal Political Department of the PA, Diveykin (nfd) also had met secretly with Page on his recent visit.”

According to that official in the dossier, Igor Diveykin told Page that the Kremlin had a dossier of kompromat on Clinton that it wanted to give the Trump campaign.

In his congressional testimony, Page denied meeting with Diveykin and said the meeting with the “senior members of the presidential administration” was actually “a brief, less-than-10-second chat with Arkadiy Dvorkovich,” Russia’s deputy prime minister.

The voters who went to the polls in New Jersey and Virginia, were galvanized on bread-and-butter issues by the candidates they voted for,. While it’s true they don’t like Trump, if those candidates hadn’t campaigned on the issues that mean something to the people of those districts, they would not have voted Democrat. Just like that cartoon picture, two small flowers in a landscape of Devastation does not signal the end of the conflict. Those people who were elected were smart enough to reach out on personal levels to the voters of those districts. That’s what it is going to take to win the elections in 2018 and 2020. Voter turnout was also high. It needs to be. Republicans don’t want you to vote. The lower the voter ratio the better the chances are for Republicans to win the offices and political seats they want. They know that if you don’t vote, they will win their elections. That’s why they do voter suppression measures, like purging voter polls and gerrymandering districts. So vote! Don’t be shy.

That can be a full garden by 2018, if the DNC comes up with a plan that is more than not-Trump. It can be a forest if the younger voters come out like they did in these last elections. Trump is making America vote again.

Maybe I’m crazy, but I’m starting to think there is a good side to Trump getting into office. This might be just what was needed to get people to vote. Hopefully they realize that they need to vote in EVERY election.

I just hope none of them cool off! They need to stay angry enough with the way women have been treated, with the way minorities have been treated, to get out and vote every time. Our future and the future of our planet depends on it.
