Maybe tomorrow, when I wake up, I’ll recall the nightmare about a congress and president that do not care about anyone but themselves and their sponsors. I know real Americans aren’t like that.

Uh, huh. Called panel four yesterday. Wonder if the USAF paper-pusher’s neglect to file the Section 128 with the FBI database was laziness or commiseration?

We want extreme vetting on religion, not on guns. If we had vetted the gunmen who shot into crowds, they wouldn’t have been able to buy guns, but wouldn’t that have trampled on their rights? Hundreds of people would live if we vetted who was purchasing guns.

One of the common threads for gunmen who shoot into crowds is they are abusive, to spouses, children, girl friends, animals and family members. Congress in response allows stronger weapons, more deadly ammo and attachments which make the gun more dangerous. Why can’t we be smart about our rights to bear arms?

What we want is extreme vetting of people. We seem to generally have a poisonous society that (mostly) white men sooner or later become “muckers” who will kill and can’t be helped. One thing that was predicted that has come true in this country mostly. It was accidentally yet if true just another problem from too many people.

Just read an article that said the reason the AR-15 is so popular with mass shooters is pretty much “that’s what all of the other mass shooters use”. The gun expert quoted in the article said it is a good thing that these nuts don’t know any better because there are guns available to the public that can do far more damage.

From a technical standpoint, you cannot fire hollow-point rounds from most rifles. The velocity plus wind resistance would cause them to deform in flight, rendering them useless. A JSP (Jacketed Soft-Point) round is the best you can do.

From a practical standpoint, if I were to do a mass shooting, the Eugene Stoner-designed AR-15/M-16 is the last weapon I’d use. It’s a piece of crap. Jams a lot. That’s what stopped the Aurora theatre shooter; his gun jammed. I would rather use a Kalashnikov, such as an AK-M derivative. Infinitely more reliable. One point of note: there are more than 10 MILLION military-style autoloaders in private hands, but maybe a dozen mass shootings PERIOD that involved one. In 2016, there were 15,070 homicides. 11,004 by firearms. 7,105 by handguns. 374 by rifle (including the Pulse club shooting). 99.999% of suicides-by-firearm use a handgun; which is nearly all of the 20,000, or so each year. Since Sandy Hook, there have been about 15,000 mass shootings. Less than 100 involve a military-style autoloader. 99+% involved a HANDGUN as the primary firearm.Yet, “Liberals” want to ban military-style autoloaders in order to prevent more mass shootings….
