With Halloween and Thanksgiving coming right up, I’m going to once again try to popularize my favorite sobriquet for the Resident of the White House, Disaster Pumpkin.

Of course Trump is releasing the JFK files – the narrative suits him perfectly. Making the documents public will rekindle interest in that dark chapter of American history and focus on the workings of the ‘secret state.’ The timing of the release will be aimed to discredit agencies involved in Russia investigation. Many are hoping the documents will shed more light on the activities of Lee Harvey Oswald, Mr Kennedy’s assassin. We are looking for truth in an alt-fact world, it will be interesting to see how our predecessors handled this kind of sensitive information, compared to what we are doing now.

Not to divert the attention from the Tangerine Twit, but (and please correct me if I’m wrong) these are not the last of the JFK files being released. The CIA documents are NOT being declassified, and this omission will only give further fuel to conspiracy theorists.

Let the conspiracy theories grow again, live long and prosper, not.
