If you want to take risks or have to, OK, but keep Jane safe.

    Glad to hear it, Paige!

For anybody interested…. somebody posted it kinda backwards before….

The Schulz museum is safe, so far…. fingers crossed…. but closed just in case.

It’s near the Southern edge of the biggest fire.

So are two of our three Santa Rosa hospitals, also evacuated and closed right now…. as are many businesses all over town, partly because employees have lost their homes.

In the fire zone we’ve lost whole neighborhoods… plus stores, restaurants, a fancy hotel…. whole sections are evacuated, and might still burn.

As long as the winds don’t change, it’s still spreading North and East… and a part of it to the West… .. burning neighborhoods and smaller towns as it goes.

They’re trying to keep it from moving any farther South, because that’s toward the central part of Santa Rosa.

Downtown is about three miles from that tenuous fire line, and it’s fairly heavily populated in between.

Then the city extends about another 4 miles South after that.

There are big fires a few miles off to the East and Northeast as well.

So far, the central and South parts of town are safe… but the fires are still considered uncontrolled and uncontained….

the air is full of smoke, the sky hazy and yellowish,

    and it’s scary around here!

“Governmental mismanagement?” Whatever makes you say that? When republicans are determined to cut taxes on corporations and the wealthy, they have to cut expenses to make up for the loss of income, so why not start with essential government services, like the Forest Service, Environmental protections, Education, Health care, and other services that don’t benefit the wealthy? Gotta cut costs somewhere!
