@YOICKS! ….. He was just on the tail-end of a normal distribution. There are people like him all over the world. The reason the US has so many shootings of this nature is that the society is so atomised that the shooters are not socialised to the extent that allows them to control their behaviour. When you add to that the ready availability and affordability of lethal weaponry the extraordinary number of mass shootings is what results. There are no silver bullets (another americanism), but many changes in a range of areas can combine in synergy to reduce the likelihood and severity of shooting events. The political conversation needs to be the first of the changes.
