Sometimes it’s better to know less than it is to know more. Evidently, Mrs. Godfrey has the same favourite Star Trek: The Next Generation character as Nate but if Nate had taken Francis’s advice, he would not have such a burden to bear.
I think this is the first time Godfrey has been happy about Nate asking her something. It might be smart to stay an huge fan of star trek so he can have some kind of hobby that they both have in common. He could use it to his advantage later down the road. Knowing Nate though, and how he hates everything about Godfrey, he would probably rather give up his favorite show knowing that Godfrey likes it, then to just continue liking it and move on.
