And one of the GOP said that this was the price of freedom. Really, how is it going to be when you and your family have it happen to you? Still free? Or an assault on your right to life? Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, what comes first? The GOP and NRA says not YOUR life.
Our cartoonists, editorialists, and news editors will never even suggest that their grab for shekels by pitting people with different ideas against each other was in any way to blame for inciting this (or other) levels of violence. Hunh-uh, no way. Our hands are clean! We’re saints! I’ll believe that when other ideas are treated with some level of respect, and not rejected as double ungood wrong-speak.
After Sandy Hook where there was about 26 elementary school children murdered, I have given up any hope that the GOP will ever get on board with any sensible gun legislation.
Americans love of guns far outweighs their disgust of death. There are more than 36 gun deaths PER DAY in the US. Terrorists need not worry; we’re killing ourselves at a far greater rate.
Congress discusses health care reform & tax reform. But, never dare to mention gun reform. NRA lobbyists should be shot on sight. Let’s see how they like it.
Columbine, Sandy Hook, Virginia Teck, San Bernardino, Orlando, Las Vegas and many more. Nothing will change until values and the politics of power and money change.
It is really hard to understand those who respect the “rule of law” over common decency and respect for other human beings. The LV laws did not benefit the people, did they?
Yeah, we’ll have about a week’s worth of congressional “debate” on capital hill. In the end, the gun industry and the NRA will win. for Congress and the Presiden, it’s all about campaign contributions and reelection. Everyone knows that.
Please note that the Republican Congress was “trying” to do something about this – it’s just been ‘slowed’ now but will eventually get through! And what is that, you may well ask? Why the legalization of “gun silencers”, of course! At the las Vegas concert, with it’s raucous noise levels, what alerted the crowd to the attack – why, it was the SOUND of gunfire! Think how many more could be ‘picked off’ without alerting the crowd if the domestic terrorist had been using “silencers” on his weapons – why, the mind boggles! Remember, your Republican legislators are hard at work trying to assist you in upping your ‘body count’ in every way they can, in every day they can! Please be patient!
When Uncle Sam gets up from his useless introspection, he won’t do anything, he’ll step over that red line and get to work making the next gun massacre even easier.
And they complain about football (hand-egg) players taking a knee, while they say no action should be taken on gun violence and we should only offer our prayers. Aren’t they the ones who say that “The Lord helps those who help themselves”?
Somebody on “Fox and Friends” was blaming CNN for Las Vegas. The logic for that escapes me. However, I’m sure someone will be pointing out it’s Obama’s fault soon.

Over 550 casualties, more than 50 fatal, try that with a knife or baseball bat at 400 yards. Right, guns don’t kill people, the bullets do.

When I see pictures of people lined up for hours and hours to donate blood, I am proud to say I am an American.
When I hear yet another shill and whore for the gun lobby say, “Now is not the time to talk about this,” I am ashamed that Americans let this go on.

So, what do you tip a Vegas bellhop who carries in 19 rifles, 2 tripods, hundreds of rounds of ammunition and a machine gun?

WE BOW TO THEIR CREED – {a pair of limericks}
“Do something”? Sure, we ought.
But too many people have bought
the gun-nuts’ perspective.
There’s no corrective.
In the NRA’s traps we’re caught. …
… We shoot ourselves in stupidity,
bowing to the egregious cupidity
of gun-sellers’ greed,
bowing to their creed,
bowing to their moral putridity.

@GH: “Nothing here was legal”. Right. Until he pulled the trigger, everything he did was legal.

Bellow Really says its “The price of freedom”
No, its the price we pay for the ultra liberal gun laws the NRA bribes the GOP to pass.

Congress is on it. They’re looking to legalize silencers. No doubt this will help in some way, and not just lead to even more deaths, right?

One answer is to get money out of politics…Doesn’t prevent the purchase of politicians, but it might help…

How about we stop selling guns specifically designed to kill human beings.
