My mom’s a “contrarian”. Even if you agree with her, it’s for the wrong reason. When my Dad was alive, if she pushed him too hard, he would get up and “go out to check the cattle”. On a home visit, after one such incident, I told Dad that I would be “checking the cattle” thirty or forty times a day. He just laughed.
