I have to agree with Burt’s banners. Is it worth it? No. It is a spiteful salad.

    Confused Elvis? – Priceless.

    Georgia’s signature today – wonderful!

    Pucky’s solution? – Yay!

I actually like kale, but I still love this, especially “imagine a world where spinach was worse.”

Most people just can’t stand – er, understand how to make it, I guess. I’ll give you a hint, it involves deep-frying the stuff.

Um, well I’m allergic to mustard so I can’t be having that with my ham but great suggestion there Puck. Much better than that disgusting kale stuff … :)

The expressions on Woman & Man are a bit deadpan. Makes you wonder if they’re thinking “YUM!” or “Just a couple more bites & – - dessert!”

Those are some large kale leaves! Now wonder they’re so bitter!

I love kale, used to share it with my pet bunnies. I would not share it with cats… they get catnip or grass. Closest thing to green veg they can stand! :D

More than once, and it still won’t make you immortal? Then what’s the point of the stuff?

If you have been nagged into the idea that you must have something green, try (a) peas (b) bok choy © vodka and lime.

I like kale sautéed in olive oil with garlic, then splashed with white wine when it gets to the bright green stage, then take out of the pan straight away and sprinkled with grated parmesan cheese over pasta. Like most bitter greens, it pairs best with salty-fatty-meaty things and a hint of acidity from wine or lemon juice.

This one really made me LOL! I agree with Lupin’s reasoning, why would you want to live longer if it means you have to eat more kale. Pucky has the right idea. Ham is infinitely better!

Can I ask that some of you keep your fingers crossed for my daughter’s cat, Miss Phoenix-Mew-Mew-Pretty-Kitty, who is 15 and has just started turning her nose up at her wet food, although she still devours her kibble? She is going to the vet to see if there is anything other than a change in her tastes wrong with her.

Oh Pucky, how sweet you are, a nice thoughtful bouquet of ham is the perfect gift. Especially when the woman in question has three Good Boys who deserve treats

It wasn’t any bigger over there. And, we used to be able to right – click on a strip to enlarge it.

Toss in a few stems of bacon and you have the perfect bouquet.

Cook it in a pot with a mild pepper cut up and a piece of salt pork. If you don’t like that, use a couple of spoonfuls of liquid smoke and a little olive oil.

Ah, kale…my bitter enemy. I’m allergic to the stuff and with all they hype around it, trying to find a salad in a restaurant without it in being thrown in has gotten annoying.

Make sure you saute the kale in plenty of olive oil – it makes it that much easier to scrape it from the pan directly into the trash ;-)

I know someone named “Cale” with a C instead of a K. She’s not bitter, though she has good reasons to be.

As far as I know, kale is nothing compared to brussels sprouts. I’ve never heard or found a way to make them palatable. The heck of it is, I love cabbage, and the sprouts look so delicious. Total fake out.

What absolute genius with the facial expressions! Hard to pick a favorite panel, but I think Elvis in panel five, drooping ear with drooping kale leaf. Just perfect, although the expressions in the last panel on the Man and Woman are priceless, too.

I like the “If it extends your life at all -that’s more time you spend eating kale.” My granddaughter when she was small, had kale as a garnish (back when it was just a garnish) on her plate. She asked the waitress if she could eat it and the waitress told her it was just there to make the plate look nice. My granddaughter asked her again – Yes, but can I eat it? The waitress said she could if she wanted to. Granddaughter took one bite, screwed her face up and spit it out. Same today after 15 years, I imagine.

I once had a kitty who loved lettuce. He would beg for it every time I made a salad. After he passed it was months before I could make a salad without tearing up.
