Not at all likely. Both cats and dogs have strong senses of smell. Kitty would have known the critter wasn’t human even with eyes closed!!!
Years ago they interviewed Charles Schulz who said he considered a cat for the strip, but he didn’t want the cat and Snoopy to “think” at each other, and Woodstock never did think words.
