I just wonder how ‘blown-out-of-proportion’ it really was. If the computer programmers and techies hadn’t jumped onto it and started sending out all the patches, I wonder if the system just might have crashed? Just wondering. Guess we’ll never really know.
A friend tested the theory of Y2K. At her NYE party, she set up the patio, with several old computers. All failed, except the one with the 8 inch floppies! (I hadn’t known 8-inch-floppies even existed!)
i had an old Tandy computer where you had to enter the date and time in every time you started it up. The year was entered in with 2 digits, and 00 didn’t work. I tested it later with “2000”, and that did work.
