The Internet existed in 1987. It just wasn’t a widespread thing back then. And social media didn’t exist.

And, thus, 80’s man wakes up into a dystopian nightmare.

Um… shouldn’t have Eighties Man been living under the rock since 31 December 1989 instead?

It’s interesting how we try to compartmentalize the recent past by decades. Not that it’s totally wrong, but it oversimplifies a bit. Why not talk about, say, the character of 1976 to 1983, or 1989 to 2000?

If you actually remember the 80s, you weren’t spending 24/7 trying to make money on the stock market, or by insider trading!

He looks remarkably clean for someone who’s been living under a rock for 30 years.

Says it all in 4 words! I sometimes think a good old fashioned bar of soap and a hard scrub in the mouth (and mind) would do us all some good! Start from scratch perhaps

Not a few of them comment on this comic strip. I feel sorry for the way Cartoon-Boy’s funny comics get mangled and twisted by hatemongers into political jeremiads. If 8os Man were wise, he’d crawl back under that rock and stay there!
