Frankly, schools should be year round. one week off after 10 weeks, with a 2 or 3 week break in the Summer. Absolutely no need in our modern times to have 2 or 3 months off in the Summer, and then take the entire first month reteaching the kids everything from last year.
Alas, the teacher’s unions, administrators (in some places), Disney, all those vacation resort places will complain about it and fight it.
