Hey, are we sure this is Jeff? With the shades, turban, and scarf over his mouth how do we really know? I mean, this was a doofus who, among other things, almost got a wedding party shot-up, did shoot down one of our own choppers, and finally was dropped-kicked out of Afghanistan by his CIA handler. Now we are to believe that Jeff suddenly has turned into an operative who can coolly negotiate a bribe arrangement with the President of Afghanistan. This has to actually be Duke under those wraps.

A few more millions and Karzai is going to discover that Overkill is actually his long lost brother and not a foreign contractor.

Wait, is he authorized to offer $50 Million? See, I wouldn’t know too much about this sort of thing, but my own workplace sent out a memo on unauthorized purchases and how… well, let’s just say the organization appreciates the purchaser’s donation to the cause…

It just shows Jeff understands the culture, which anyone who goes to the Middle East will pick up within the first 24 hours. In Ankara, they get insulted if you don’t want to spend fifteen minutes dickering over the price of a Pepsi.

‘Course, while he might understand their culture, he certainly doesn’t understand ours. He’d better watch out or the price will end up being 49 mil and his shiny white bazoo.

Wildcard, you were thinking the same thing I was. I don’t know what the contracts would be worth but it must be a huge sum if you can afford $50 million to just open “negotiations” for an exception to the ban.

Wow…the spammers are adding ASCII art to their double-space spiels. Now we can flag something a little more elegant!

I know I’ve said this quite a few times, but if Havoc DOES hear about this, how do you think he’ll react?

    (a) He’ll be shocked, flabergasted and a little proud at the same time.

    (b) He’ll hunt him down for the bounty.

A little pre-weekend trivia for you. Enjoy!

Wildcard asked if he was authorized to offer the $50 Million.

I really…really…REALLY hope that is indeed the case, or it is SOOOOO coming out of his pay.

Maybe Jeff is wired up like Bush in a debate? Always nice to know the right thing to say when you usually don’t have a clue.

Well, if 50 mil is too high for Short Stuff to pay out, he can always take his private jet and go elsewhere. I hear there are lots of people who used to do business with Viktor Bout who are all kinds of lonely these days. Some of them even in the US. A death merchant is never out of work in a world where someone wants what someone else has got.

I also love how Jeff has somehow become the fall guy for the US Department of State, who are the real reason these contractors are still being used all over Afghanistan and yes, still in Iraq. I guess Trudeau doesn’t want to catch any flak for trying to draw Hillary. ;-7

It’s a U.S. federal felony to bribe a foreign government. Jeffy and Overkill, UR in Truh-bull. If you get caught, that is. But how could they not get caught trying to launder $50 million?

this is WAY common. I remember holidaying in Palau, Saipan and Tinian. i was warned, when i left and entered the US (Guam Island customs), to palm a 20 dollar bill when i shook the agent´s hand welcoming us in, or i would have a lot of re-packing to do. i spent about 30 seconds in customs, mostly waiting in line for the exit door. this required me to consume extensive amounts of alcohol in the bar, while waiting for my ethical non-believer friends to process through.

I know that Mr. Trudeau writes these 2 weeks in advance, but sometimes he times them perfectly nonetheless. Did you all hear today that Mr. Karzai has just extended the deadline for military contractors by another 2 months? Apparently he was forced to admit the reality, that the country will collapse without them.
