Because of their mass congitive dissonance they can’t see the cause and effect of what they do. Partially literate, poorly and incompletely educated. Also just educated in things that just aren’t so—-but fits their ideology to a tee.

All too many people who identify themselves as political conservatives (don’t ask them to define that term) would cut off their own arms if a liberal demanded they not do so.

Alas, the consequences are further down the line. So, there’s still time to live in denial. The impact of the cuts, will be felt over the coming months/years, with the blame spread as ever to the other side. It’s traditional, these cuts wouldn’t be necessary, if things weren’t so bad….. Let’s pretend, Canada, Australia, Japan, China, France, Germany, etc. Don’t have cheaper Healthcare, because…. er… small government?! Single Payer. Imagine covering their citizens, (We the people), when you can spend money on another Aircraft Carrier. Bonus points for calling them un-American if they object. Why is it seen as being beyond American wit and wisdom to provide Universal Healthcare, when it’s been achieved, decades ago in so many other countries. Has America lost it’s drive to be better, to aspire?

Because we really believed that having the government spend more and tax more would work out in our interests even though we had been told forever that government spending would harm us economically, even if the taxes were raised only on corporations and on ‘the rich’. We simply never believed that government handouts were not in our interests because party dogma says this is a lie.

I wonder if people are ever going to realize that telling other people they are “voting against their best interests” comes off as a smarmy way of saying “I know better than you what you actually need”. I further wonder if people are ever going to realize that does nothing but alienate people and contribute to the current political environment… My money’s on “nahhhh”.

Robin, Otto von Bismark realized that Germany would do better financially if the people were healthy enough to put in a day’s work. That plan was put into effect around 1910. The US Congress thought it was a lovely idea, and had it all set up for America to have universal health. Even the AMA was solidly behind it.Then – the US and Germany went to war, and the plan was scrapped, for NO other reason than it was a German plan. On the other hand, England started their plan in the early 50s, not too long after they finished off a brutal war with Germany.Of course, we’ll talking about a system that stopped teaching German in the schools while the war was on. If you are at war, doesn’t it make more sense to be able to know what the other side is doing?

Remember government spending is the road to slavery and serfdom. These guys voted for a progressive, and are getting what they richly deserve. They were told they are being smart and modern, but they really are being sold back to the middle ages. Don’t worry, the Clintoons will have plenty of “noblesse oblige” and take good care of you. Laughing all the way to the bank…

We didn’t have a lot of good choices this time, so people voted for someone who paid lip service to their needs. If someone pays lip service to religion, veterans, or white workers, they must be better politicians than those who aren’t paying lip service to them. Politics is all about who is on your team.

Trump voters love him because he only uses one and two syllable words and the rare three syllable ones like, “tremendous” and “wonderful” on rare occasions. They don’t care that he’s incomprehensible.

Let’s not vote for a party or a person to be in charge but for the individual policies suggested by a committee of elected representatives. This could be on a local or national level. Also those committee members should earn no more than the average wage.

A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until a majority of voters discover that they can vote themselves largess out of the public treasury. Alexander Tytler

A liberal is someone who feels a great debt to his fellow man, which debt he proposes to pay off with your money. G. Gordon Liddy

I believe that every individual is naturally entitled to do as he pleases with himself and the fruits of his labor, so far as it in no way interferes with any other men’s rights. Abraham Lincoln

Our elections allow “winners” who don’t represent a majority consensus, discourage candidates of alternative views to be represented, and encourage campaigns that disparage other candidates and ideas. Ranked Choice Voting (see www.FairVote.com ) at all levels of government is a reform that encourage a wider range of candidates and ideas, more civil debates, higher voter turn-outs. RCV envigorates democracy. Check it out, then try it out in your community, and push for the reform for state and national elections!

Could any of you enlightened folks please define the Alt-Right for me? I am a conservative and I hate Nazis, bigotry, and racism. I have Muslim friends, gay friends. I have even have Liberals as friends Including at least three of my seven children. I just grow tired of these liberal talking points. Please share your vast knowledge of all things in detail and stop throwing barbs that are meant for people who feel like you. Factually convince me why I am on the wrong side.

I’m just enjoying watching these folks get what they were promised starting with “repeal and replace” and “tax cuts.” AND, just remember that if we had managed to get Hillary as prez, we wouldn’t even be having that conversation.
