The news reports that something like 40 percent of nursing home residents are on Medicaid. I have personal knowledge of one person in this situation. When Trump eliminates payments for this, it looks like two things will happen. The Medicaid resident will be put out at the curb and have to fend for themselves and nursing homes will take a huge financial hit that will probably cause many to close. Clearly many will die prematurely. It will become catastrophic as the baby boomers get to where they need nursing home care. I simply don’t understand how any Christian can accept this truly evil result. Apparently it is motivated by a desire to save money so that tax reductions can be made to benefit the upper class. The cost of these essential social services are a problem but we need a humane solution.
Billionaires will make more money while people with genetic issues, self-employed, people in nursing homes and premature babies will suffer. How is this making America great?
