Thought one: Who the Sam Hill wants them free so bad? Is this our introduction to the episode that brings back Bribery?

Thought two: I remember several Batman episodes that seemed to start this way – such as the one when Catwoman picked up Joker the day he got out of jail.

Some of you have talked about the return of Phishface. I think he made his return in Monday’s episode of Endtown!

Phisface is back. He could be a Deep One for all his looks.

These guys have what look like an Uzi variant, there are three sizes and this may be the larger pistol size version of the Israeli made gun.

It seems their passengers are more important than we suspected. Tracy will be called soon on this one.

What if 715984 is not Sprocket and Silver just happened to share the ride to the court. The ambushers are really after 715984.

Who might be that character who dislikes wearing shoes? Of course, aside from Sprocket

Although Mr. Bribery isn’t featured today, I thought I’d share a comment I posted on G+:

I’m in the final stages of reading “The Complete Chester Gould Dick Tracy v22” with the main antagonist “Mr. Bribery” and I must say. The guy’s a few fries short of a happy meal.

I now suspect where J. Michael Straczynski got his idea for Emperor Cartagia on Babylon 5. The elements are all there. Bribery speaks to a rose, he has sunken heads, and he’s not all there either.

Cartagia was certifiably nuts, he had heads of his enemies too, and he spoke to the heads in conference

Bribery has been featured in the new strips, and I said then he’s creepy.

I think that makes a better villain. It’s not the features, it’s the mind and this was a great villain.

Granny has left us. 99 is not too shabby! Thanks June for being a big part of my childhood.

I think we have two separate vans here. Two of the officers are wearing Smokey hats, Silver’s drivers aren’t wearing any hats; and Sprocket’s driver (or guard) is wearing a baseball cap. Generally, female prisoners aren’t kept near the male population, and therefore wouldn’t be sharing the ride. Secondly, ALL prisoners are shackled and/or transported immobilized. That is……….. unless it’s in Tracytown.

I always thought accused criminals not out on bail were kept in local or country jails & not kept in state or federal prisons until after their case was adjudicated, either through plea bargaining or a trial.

Which transport car is being ambushed by the sinister balaclava-wearing, sub-machine gunner is a tad unclear to me. I thought from yesterday’s strip that 603971 (Silver) was being taken from State Prison by state troopers; but maybe they were on duty at the prison and were loading him into a sheriff’s vehicle for the ride to the courthouse. But the driver (with an older guard riding shotgun) in today’s strip looks like the driver who addressed 715984 (“Shoeless” Sprocket) yesterday.

I now suspect that I was mislead by the “elsewhere” caption in yesterday’s panel 3. It now seems likely to me that one sheriff’s car is transporting both Nitrates, having stopped first at State Prison to pick up Silver and then “elsewhere” at the county jail to add Sprocket to their spacious back seat. So, today’s ambush and breakout will, I now think, spring both Nitrates in one fell swoop. Using a single sheriff’s car to carry both, albeit from separate lock-ups, in retrospect, seems more efficient—or dangerous….
