1. He is on a scavenger hunt for a leaf.

2. He is trying to find just the right leaf for Martha after she asked him to “Leave her alone.”

3. Martha asked him to tell her his beliefs, and he didn’t quite understand what she was asking when she said the word "beliefs (be leafs).

4. Martha told him that trigonometry was her favourite subject and Mike thought she said, “Try and go on a tree.”

Martha has an understanding Michael.

Lawrence, how darest thou speak ill of Martha.

Michael knows.

And as we learn later, Lawrence will never know (or more specifically, care).

Sorry guys. Michael found his teenage soul mate. You guys can’t compare of compete. And it looks like your testosterone haven’t spiked yet. Mike is probably early.

What does the girl have that you boys haven’t? Some things in common that bring Mike together with her. That’s what!

Offhand, I’d say a couple of things.

How about he has fun with her without her getting him in trouble?

I would say that Mike is out of danger of getting in trouble again – or at least of getting into the kind of trouble he was previously getting into at camp – a whole new world of trouble might just be opening up before him!

He has likely had enough of those pranks, especially after being punished for it. Also, someone tattled on him to his mother, and bet it will be a dark day if Michael finds out who.

I read this strip off and on for years when it was in first-run mode and I just don’t remember Martha, only Deanna. Guess I’ll find out.
