That’s the funny part about the mentality that first-world nations pollute less. People say that as if we do things cleaner, but all we did was just send the pollution-heavy jobs to developing nations.
The scary part is that Chinese outnumber Americans by 4 to 1. Imagine what would happen to energy prices if China’s standard of living catches up with ours. The same argument applies to India.

One thing to keep in mind is that China is using a lot of that energy in the manufacture of goods to be sold in the US.
Technically, they’re the world’s largest energy consumer, but…
