Can we be honest for a moment? Comey was a horribly tainted, horribly political FBI director, probably the most political since Hoover (who set a helluva bar on being tainted with politics, selective law enforcement and personal issues).
His one redeeming feature was that he didn’t like Trump, didn’t get along with Trump and was not willing to subvert the office to Trump.
Trump, OFC, is now seeking the impossible, an FBI director who can be trusted to squelch any “unseemly” little matters in his Administration while also being able to pass muster in the Senate. It seems unlikely that any such being exists.
